The data and information generated by the Nucleus will contribute to a more conscious consumption of Fish in the State of São Paulo and will subsidize public policies, with innovative solutions for the valorization of Fish as food and for the knowledge of its beneficial effects on health, on the part of of the general population.

Universities (USP, UMC, UFRN) and government research institutions (Instituto de Pesca) work together, as a research team, in partnership with industry, to solve the problem in the State of São Paulo.

The research objectives are directly related to the focal themes presented by the Department of Agriculture and Supply and the Department of Health, and require a multidisciplinary research approach to solve the problem and clarify key production and health issues in the State.
