“Participating in the All Atlantic Ocean Forum 2026, in Salvador, is to be at the center of one of the most strategic dialogues on the future of the ocean.
The importance of this event lies in its ability to connect countries, science, the productive sector, and decision-makers around a common objective: promoting a more sustainable, productive, and resilient ocean. The Forum strengthens international cooperation in the Atlantic, stimulates innovation, and drives concrete solutions to global challenges such as food security, climate change, and the responsible use of marine resources.
More than a space for discussion, it is an environment for building pathways — where knowledge is transformed into action and partnerships become real initiatives with global impact.
Events such as this demonstrate that the future of the ocean depends on collaboration, science, and collective commitment.
At the All Atlantic Ocean Forum 2026, in Salvador, I had the opportunity to present on “Consumption Patterns, Sustainability and Market Perspectives.”
My presentation addressed trends in aquatic food consumption, providing a current perspective on how eating habits are evolving and the impact this has on production systems and global markets.
I also discussed how sustainability has become a central factor in consumer choices, influencing the entire chain — from production to commercialization — and reinforcing the importance of aligning supply, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
Understanding these consumption patterns is essential for guiding public policies, market strategies, and the development of more sustainable, resilient, and society-oriented aquatic food systems.
I had the opportunity to present actions that have been carried out in Brazil which contribute to the dissemination of fish as food and the importance of the Fish for Health Project in this regard.”
